Topkapı Palace, built in 1478, is located in Istanbul, Turkey. This magnificent palace was the administrative center of the Ottoman Empire and the official residence of the Ottoman sultans for 380 years. The palace, which can be visited as a museum since 1924, contains the historical and precious Topkapı Palace Treasury. The palace attracts huge number of tourists today as one of the historical monuments located in the Historical Peninsula of Istanbul, and it has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1985.
